My latest and last TV commerical for Nokia. Made with Inferno, the UK based advertising agency. The film for this brief was to explain the simplicity and speed of the Windows UI on a Nokia phone.
Martin Parr - ‘Think of Finland’ exhibition Spring 2012.
This project began in 2010 with my friends and colleagues at Viewmasters in Finland. I wanted to do something around the Helsinki World Design Capital. I wanted to give the rest of the world an opinion on who and what is modern Finland. Martin Parr is the perfect photographer to tell such stories in interesting ways.
Here is my latest film for the Nokia N9 made with Wieden and kennedy. The N9 is for style conscious people and is sold globally. I really like the way the soundscape and visual story fit together. Fresh and fun.
Cannes Lions Advertising awards partnership - in this project we gave devices to the Young Lions - the young creatives at Cannes - to make a film for charity using the Nokia N8. They had 24 hours and the charity was chosen by the event organisers. This films gives a glimpse of our efforts and partnerships with these brilliant young minds..
Dot, the world’s smallest animation shot on a mobile phone won at Cannes Lions this year. I commissioned the film from Wieden and Kennedy and worked with the Nokia team to get this produced and successfully digitally launched.
Here we are. A lovely campaign synopsis of the Nokia N8 marketing materials. You get an idea of the fresh startegic approach and the real wins of this campaign. It makes me proud to be doing this kind of work with our agencies.

My favourite film. The idea was to show you could video all the cool stuff around you in decent quality. Shot in New York with the Director, Chris Palmer. All good stuff.
Nokia 7610 baby TV Commercial
Its 2005 and Nokia was the kid with the best camera phone on the block (a stonking 1MP). I made this film with the idea that the photos you took with your Nokia 7610 were good enough to share with people - and what better image to leave people with than a baby at every turn!
Music Range TV Commercial
Music had come to mobile phones. They were now good enough to carry plenty of music and enjoy them on the go.

For smaller markets and for simple, clear selling of a device, I have created animated films that showcase the key selling points.
Viral Marketing Campaign for the Nokia N90
This film was made on a shoe-string. Working with the Swedish Far Far agency, we shot this funny little film on a Nokia N90 and seeded it on the web. We did 4 films in total. The one film called ‘The Wedding’ was later highlighted in The Guardian newspaper as a proven success that viral marketing had come of age.
N90 Viral Marketing Example 2005
Working with the Swedish Agency, Far Far, we created a range of short funny films. These films were shot on the N90 and then released on the web - the wedding film that the Guardian picked up on was based on a short moment when the champagne bottle is opened by the newly weds and the cork flies off and hits the glasses and crowd. Already over 300 000 views with no media spend in 2005!
Fashion Phone Launch Event with Rankin
The launch event for the Nokia 7610 was with the fashion photographer, Rankin. This was one of the first times a real established photographer had taken pictures with a camera phone. Rankin’s idea was to create a dreamscape environment with the models dressed as fairies. The images were good enough to print out on A3 and we then held a cocktail evening/gallery opening at the Orangery in London. The World’s major fashion press were invited.
Nokia 7600 Launch Event 100% Design Exhibition London
Nokia wished to position the 7600 as a design classic. We therefore chose an alternative launch event and plan. We launched to the design press at 100% Design - an architectural and interior event. To support this, top designers like John Pawson and Tom Dixon pomoted the device by running around, capturing a ‘day in the life’ at the event. I am still proud how we took the risk to try something new. The press coverage was amazing. The stand was something fresh for Nokia and I loved how we took an integrated design approach throughout my event. We continued to sponsor the event for the following year due to its success.
Nokia 7600 Limited Edition Design Box and Retail Strategy
This was a first for Nokia. As the Launch Manager, my project plan involved working with Nokia Design to create special boxes which we then sold in key fashion/design establishments across Europe - for example Colette (France), Corso Como (Italy), Vincon (Spain), Conran Shop (UK) and Asplund (Sweden). This took Nokia brand to new heights in the design and fashion community. To support the launch in each country, we held press parties with the World’s design press. Again the coverage was just what we wanted.
Creative partnerships - Art, Architecture, Fashion, Music
I have done several creative partnerships over the years with Nokia. I have worked with architects (Tom Dixon, John Pawson), musicians (Sounds like Suomi tour), fashion photography with Rankin, Juergen Teller and artists like Henry Reichold. Henry is inspiring as his photography using Nokia devices has taken him as far a field as Australia and his work has been exhibited across the world (often seen in London Heathrow if you’re passing through).
Premium Fashion Lifestyle photography - Nokia N97 mini Gold Edition
Its fun to make a range of photography for Nokia. This shoot allowed me and Viewmasters to bring up the premiumness of the device and to take the images for a luxury lifestyle.
Nokia N900 Lifestyle Shoot Barcelona 2009
The photoshoot was for the N900 device. The setting is urban, real and for consumers with an interest in technology. The shoot came out well. Done with my colleague, Phil Hickey and the agency, Viewmasters.

Marketing Strategy/Planning Experience – responsibility for writing creative briefs and strategy for Nokia flagship product category and own design start up company.
Marketing Campaign Production Experience (ATL, Digital/Social Media, Partnerships) – over 10 years experience in campaign creation – creating TV and print for almost all of Nokia’s flagship devices (including Partnerships in Hollywood films and fashion world). Creating digital and social media campaigns, the first examples being in 2005 up to the most recent one ran on Vimeo and Nokia’s Facebook channel. Agency Creative Management Experience – guiding world leading advertising agency networks (IPG, JWT, WK and WPP) in the creative production of global campaigns – including budgeting, briefing and final delivery. This also included working with independent brand/digital agencies to provide complete creative solutions within the larger team.

Team Management Experience – previously running a creative marketing team of 11 people – the team was responsible for the event launch and 360 campaigns around flagship products. Management duties involved creative leadership of campaign materials and general line management duties
Design Entrepreneur – the creation of a new design product and brand for bathrooms – bbuddy. bbuddy is a minimalist inter changeable storage box and shelf for modern homes. Design, PR, brand creation and sales all done in partnership with myself.
